Asked Questions (FAQ)
Are there any
age restrictions?
Taekwondo is suitable for
all ages. We recommend that children should be at least 6 years old
before joining our classes, when their co-ordination and concentration
have developed sufficiently. Strike Taekwondo will teach children from
a minimum age of 5 years.

Is it safe?
Taekwondo is a
martial art which involves contact but this is in a controlled
environment. There are risks involved as in any other sport but safety
is paramount.

Do you need to
be flexible?
No.
Everyone has different levels of flexibility; this will improve
through training in Taekwondo.

Do you have to
be fit?
No. There
is no expectation to be fit before starting Taekwondo; fitness levels
will be developed through regular training.

What equipment
do I need?
In order to
start Taekwondo, all you need is comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.
If you find you enjoy Taekwondo, then it will be necessary to
purchase a suit and protective equipment as required.

How much does
it cost?
The first lesson is free,
standard class fees then apply.
A licence will need to be purchased for insurance purposes and in order
to take part in gradings, competitions and training seminars. Please email lisa@striketaekwondo.co.uk for
further information. The licence is renewable on an annual basis.
A Taekwondo suit costs from
£15.
