Turner, on her way to the finals, managed to stop her opponent midway through the second round with a perfectly executed back kick to her opponents midriff which saw her floored and unable to continue. The win made for an exciting finale between two well matched ladies in the -57kg category, with Turner narrowly missing out on a gold medal. Both Moorby, Cadets 10-13 years, and Patra, Junior 14-17 years, fought well in their respective categories but faced more experienced fighters in the final and had to settle for silver.
